This was a really interesting project. An Australian lady now living in London wanted a sculpture for her newly-designed garden that reminded her of home. Her garden designer had seen my work at the Chelsea Flower Show and made contact to see what might be possible.

It was really refreshing to try my hand at creating a non-athletic human form. I spent a great deal of time researching Aboriginal physiology which was made more difficult by the fact that there are very few images of Aboriginal men on the internet as they are culturally averse to having their picture taken. To try and differentiate him from the athletes whose measurements I often have, I had to make careful observations to depict their somewhat different physiology. This was also the first time I have created hair using wire but I have to say I think it turned out really quite well.
